How to generate a new 2FA backup code
If you still have access to your account and want to generate a new 2FA (Two-Factor Authentication) backup code or reset your Google Authenticator setup:
Log into your Travala.com account dashboard.
Navigate to your Security Settings.
Select Disable 2FA (you will need your current authenticator app code to complete this).
Once disabled, click Enable 2FA to scan a brand-new QR code and generate a fresh set of secure backup codes. Make sure to save these new backup codes in a safe place!
How to sign in if you lost your phone or backup codes
If you are locked out of your account and cannot generate a code, you have two options depending on what information you have saved:
If you have your backup codes: You can use your original 2FA backup code during the sign-in prompt to bypass the authenticator app. Once inside, follow the steps above to reset your configuration.
-
If you do not know your backup codes: As a last resort to protect your security, our team can manually disable 2FA for you after verifying your identity. Please send a verification request from your registered email address to support@travala.com.
Security Note: Disabling 2FA can temporarily leave your account vulnerable to unauthorized access. We strongly recommend setting up a brand-new authenticator link immediately once you regain access to your profile.
